Directions: Travel Highway 101, taking the San Pedro exit (north of San Rafael and south of Manuel T Freitas Parkway), proceed east to the traffic light, turn left at the light. Turn immediately left into main Civic Center Administration Building. Ample parking is available close to the building, with no evening time limitations. Take elevator to the fourth floor, exit right, and continue to first hallway Room 410B at end of hallway.

Present: Sonia Saltzman, Leslie Belingheri, Caroline Vance Bruister, Heather McPhail Sridharan, Stephany Barahona, Kellye Eboni McKinley, Cheryl Timoney (arrived 6:12).
Absent: Fran Calle La Bou, Erika Rosales-Shelfo, Cris Criollo.

Heather Steil has recently returned to Marin County and is interested in what the Women’s Commission is involved in at this time.
Andrea Lange and Aviva Rossi discussed the recent termination of College of Marin faculty member accused of sexual harassment.
Sonia: Aviva and Andrea will come back next meeting and the item will be on the Agenda. The presentation is estimated to take about 25 minutes. - Commissioner Check-In Question – All Commissioners

Discussion regarding status of the bylaw amendment.
Motion to Approve Moving Forward Pending County Counsel’s Approval of the Bylaws.
CT/S/p - Report: YWCA Marin Women’s Hall of Fame Partnership – Heather and Leslie
Discussion regarding YWCA WHOF event. The YWCA is not inducting new MHOF members in 2027 and are brainstorming ideas. It will be a more casual event. Women’s Commissioner Eboni will be in a video for the MHOF.
The MWC needs to help with the fundraising so that the Hall of Fame can continue. We are financial supporters of the MHOF and were part of the founding partners. A teen workshop has been suggested. Bring a proposal to the next meeting.
- Discussion & Vote: Approve MWC Policy Agenda – Cheryl and Stephany
Cheryl: There is an error in the minutes. MWC voted to approve the first three pillars of the Policy Agenda. Alisa will correct on the website.
Discussion regarding the policy agenda, strategic plan and a guide for the Women’s Commission going forward. The Commission will vote on the first key things to place on the website once the Policy Agenda is completed.

HMS/CVB/p - Discussion: Needs Assessment Update – Cris, Caroline, and Sonia
Cris, Caroline and Sonia had a productive call with HR. The proposals are currently going back to two consultants to update. We are hoping for more proposals.
- Discussion & Vote: 2026-2027 Budget Review – Leslie
Leslie reviewed MWC budget with the Commission since the beginning of the 2026-2027 fiscal year.

CT/KEM/p - Discussion & Vote: Center for Domestic Peace Partnership $250 2nd Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Month Panel Discussion & Purple Ribbon Awards – Eboni
Eboni and Leslie attended a Zoom meeting with the Director of the CFDP. Eboni expressed her concerns that women were not getting the information that they needed. Stephany commented that there will be a get to know you with the Marin County Sherrif’s Office.
On October 6, 2026, 2026, there will be a panel discussion and purple ribbon award at College of Marin. MWC is contributing $250 to help sponsor the panel and will help with outreach.
Eboni will reach out to CFDP for something in writing to ensure nothing was forgotten from the Zoom meeting. - Subcommittees Updates – All Commissioners

We will continue working on the bylaws.
Sonia will be stepping down after the September meeting. She will still be available at the County to support and help. Vice Chair Heather will step in as the Chair and the Vice Chair position will be vacant. There will be a special election in September. - Open Time for Commissioners + Q & A
